A great jhumka is not formal wear. It is the piece that turns a plain kurta into a decision. The trick is proportion, and knowing when to stop.
Rule one: one statement at a time
If the ears are loud, the neck should whisper. Pair a chandbali with a bare neck or a single fine chain — never with a competing collar. Let the earring be the sentence, not the paragraph.
Rule two: match weight to fabric
Heavy, layered jhumkas live happily against crisp cotton and raw silk. Against soft chiffon they pull and gap. If you love a lightweight drape, choose a slim chandbali or a pearl drop that moves without drag.
Rule three: let the metal set the palette
Antique gold warms up cool greys and denims — a look our younger clients wear to dinners. Bright gold lifts ivory, maroon and forest green. For a deliberately modern register, wear oxidised silver against white.
The jhumka is not there to match your outfit. It is there to finish it.
